A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ROTARY GARDENS
TWENTY-YEAR CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, Rotary Gardens, Inc., currently leases thirteen acres of parkland
from the City of Janesville for the purpose of operating and maintaining a public
botanical garden; and
WHEREAS, said property lease terminates in the year 2089; and
WHEREAS, Rotary Gardens has developed a twenty-year conceptual
development plan for future garden and building expansion; and
WHEREAS, the leased premises as described in Section I of the lease would be
increased by 4.1 acres in accordance with the attached map; and
WHEREAS, the expansion of Rotary Gardens is in the best interest of the City
and of benefit to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville that they hereby approve the twenty-year conceptual development plan; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council retains future approval of any
building expansion or building projects on the Rotary Gardens leased premises.
