RESOLUTION NO. 2000-68
A Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to File a Relocation Order with Rock County for
Transportation Purposes.
Whereas, it is necessary to acquire land and land interests for the General Motors
Transportation Project, City of Janesville, Rock County, Project I.D. 5990-03-50, as approved
by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and
Whereas. the City of Janesville together with the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation have studied several alternative routes, and
Whereas. the City of Janesville selected a route and the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation approved the funding to design and build this transportation infrastructure, and
Whereas. the City of Janesville has been approached by impacted owners of the project
requesting advanced acquisition, and
Whereas, said requests have been approved by the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation for advanced acquisition under its hardship/protective purchase policy, and
Whereas. said acquisitions shall effect a change requiring a new right-of-way pursuam
to authority granted under Chapter 62.22 Wisconsin Statutes, and
Whereas. the new right-of-way land interests determined necessary for said
improvement are set forth in the attached right-of-way plat which is attached hereto as Exhibit
"A" and incorporated herein by reference as required under 32.05(1) Wisconsin Statutes, and
Whereas, the City of Janesville shall acquire certain lands and interests therein as
shown on the attached Exhibit "A" as provided by Chapter 32 Wisconsin Statutes, and
Whereas, the lands or interests or rights in lands as shown on said EXHIBIT "A" for
the above improvement shall be acquired in the name of the City of Janesville, pursuant to
66.22(1) Wisconsin Statutes.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville
that it hereby authorizes this Relocation Order and directs the City Manager to file a copy of
this resolution with the County Clerk of Rock County, Wisconsin on behalf of the City.

New road to connect Jackson Street approximately 700 feet south of the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-
way and Beloit Road approximately 250 feet south of the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way.
The purpose of this Relocation Order is to identify real estate interests required as advanced acquisitions
required for the improvement of the Jackson Street/Beloit Road Connector.
Certified Resolution Number 2000-68 is attached hereto and made a part hereof as an attachment which
delineates those parcels to be acquired in fee simple by' the City of Janesville.

To effect this change, pursuant to authority granted under Sections 66-22 Wisconsin Statutes, the City of
Janesville orders that:
1. The said road is laid out and established to the lines and widths as shown on the plat.
2. The required lands or interests in lands as shown on the plat shall be acquired by the City of
Janesville.
