A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
A RENTAL AGREEMENT FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 601 N MAIN
STREET
WHEREAS, the Janesville City Council previously adopted File Resolution 2000-23 authorizing
the City Manager to acquire the Graf property located at 601 N Main Street; and
WHEREAS, said property contains a residential structure, which is suitable for occupancy; and
WHEREAS, renting the property will generate sufficient funds for future demolition of the
structure; and
WHEREAS, the Janesville Plan Commission reviewed this rental proposal and recommended
approval based on its consistency with City plans, although no evaluating the financial aspects of the rental
agreement; and
WHEREAS, renting this property is in the best interest of the City and a benefit to the community,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that
they hereby authorize the City Manager and/or his designee to rent the residential property at 601 N. Main
Street on behalf of the City as the City Manager may deem necessary or desirable to effectuate the intent
of this resolution; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager and his designee(s) may, from time to
time, negotiate, draft, amend, execute and enter into such contracts, documents, and agreements and take
such other actions as the City Manager and/or his designees may deem necessary or desirable to effectuate
the intent of this resolution.
