A Resolution authorizing a budget adjustment to provide funds for additional
investigative activities, consultant engineering services, and repair and remedial actions
associated with the landfill leachate and gas coflection systems.
WHEREAS, recent investigations have revealed deterioration of portions of the landfill
leachate collection system; and,
WHEREAS, portions of the existing landfill gas collection system are ineffective in
controlling landfill gas; and,
WHEREAS, both of these conditions present potential threats to the environment and
to the safety of residents; and,
WHEREAS, the 1999 Solid Waste Disposal Budget does not contain funds to pay for
additional investigation, engineering and repair or remedial actions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Common Council of the City of Janesville
finds that it is in the best interest of the City to provide for and authorize a budget adjustment

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that it
hereby authorizes an adjustment in the 2000 Solid Waste Disposal budget to be made in the
amount of t~,e-l:l~a:~l,~ninety thousand dollars ($~gO,O00) using unreserved balance in the
Sanitation Fund to pay for such additional activities and services.
