2000-47RESOLUTION NO. 2000-47 A Resolution Requesting that the 104th United States Congress Name the City of Janesville United States Post Office for Former Congressman and 18th United States Secretary of Defense, Les Aspin. WHEREAS, Congressman Les Aspin ably served the citizens of Janesville while representing Wisconsin's First Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives from 1971 to 1993; and WHEREAS, Congressman Les Aspin faithfully served the citizens of the United States as the 18th United States Secretary of Defense, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Janesville wish to recognize the exemplary representation and commendable leadership displayed by Les Aspin during his years of service to Janesville's citizens. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville, to submit a request to the 104th United States Congress to name the Janesville Post Office for late Congressman Les Aspin in recognition of his dedication and years of service to the citizens of Janesville.
