2014-1121 CITY OF JANESVILLE
RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -1121
A Resolution authorizing a supplemental budget appropriation for calendar year 2014 snow and ice
control.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Janesville adopted a 2014 snow and ice control
budget totaling $1,197,816; and,
WHEREAS, such budget is expected to be exceeded by $474,320 in calendar year 2014 due to the
severity of winter weather early in 2014; and,
WHEREAS, maintaining an effective snow and ice control program is essential to the safety of
motorists and pedestrians within the City of Janesville; and
WHEREAS, Common Council Policy 58, Part 7 authorizes the Common Council of the City of
Janesville to provide a supplemental budget appropriation in response to, but not exclusively, severe
winter weather.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Common Council of the City of Janesville find that it is in
the best interest of the City of Janesville to provide for and authorize a budget adjustment to fund
snow and ice response activities for calendar year 2014; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that they hereby
authorize a supplemental budget appropriation from the General Fund Undesignated Balance to be
made in an amount not to exceed Four hundred seventy four thousand three hundred twenty dollar
and 00/100 Dollars ($474,320.00) to pay for the cost of such expected snow and ice control.
