RESOLUTION NO. 2000-35
A Resolution authorizing a State sponsored Local Road Improvement Project on East Milwaukee
Street from Sumac Drive to Wright Road.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Janesville recognizes the need to improve East
Milwaukee Street from Sumac Drive to Wright Road to provide for increasing vehicular street
traffic, to eliminate deteriorating conditions and high maintenance costs, and to improve traffic
safety; and
WHEREAS, the project is estimated to cost $600,000 and Local Road Improvement Project
funds from the State constituting 50% of the project cost, up to a maximum of $148,615 has been
programmed for use on this project to upgrade East Milwaukee Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Janesville,
that the City Manager be authorized to execute project agreements with the Wisconsin
Department of Transportation and take any other such action as may be necessary to implement
and complete the rehabilitation of said East Milwaukee Street; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Common Council, that the City of Janesville intends to
fund its share of the proposed project.
