2000-16RESOLUTION NO. 2000-16
A resolution accepting the Jeffris Foundation's commitment and donation of funds toward
the exterior renovation and expansion of the existing Senior Center.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Janesville has authorized the renovation
of the existing Senior Center, located at 69 South Water Street, and the construction of an
addition thereto; and
WHEREAS, the renovation and construction are intended to be done in a manner which is
sensitive to the building's historical architecture; and
WHEREAS, the Jeffi-is Foundation has committed to donating to the City of Janesville not
more than $210,000 toward the exterior renovation and expansion of the existing Senior Center
to be paid no later than March 1,2001; and
WHEREAS, the Jeffris Foundation has committed to donating not more than $15,000 for
the hiring of an architect to oversee the exterior building design and renovation project; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville that they hereby accept the commitment and donation of not more than Two hundred
twenty five thousand dollars ($225,000) from the Jeffris Foundation for these purposes upon the
terms, conditions, uses and restrictions to be set forth in a future negotiated agreement;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager and his designee(s), on behalf of
the City of Janesville, is/are hereby authorized and empowered to negotiate, draft, modify, review,
execute, enter into, record, file and/or to make minor modifications and/or amendments to any
and all documents, papers, forms and agreements, and to take whatever other actions as the City
Manager may, from time to time and at any time, determine necessary and/or desirable to
effectuate the intent of this Resolution and/or project.
