2014-1129 RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -1129 Whereas, Patricia A. Lynch is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than twenty -five years; retiring as the Comptroller for the City of Janesville; and Whereas, during Patricia's employment with the City of Janesville, she provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of her position, which she performed with sincerity, honesty, integrity, and dedication; and Whereas, Patricia began her employment with the City of Janesville as an Accountant, and during her more than twenty -five year long career with the City, was promoted to Accountant II, Utility Accounting Supervisor, Accounting Manager, and in July of 2007 to the position she is retiring from, that of Comptroller; and Whereas, Patricia successfully completed financial forecasting projections that assisted the Administration's ability to plan for the future; and Whereas, Patricia has been instrumental in the City's receipt of the Governmental Financial Officers Association's "Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting" for several years; and Whereas, Patricia provided expertise in ongoing changes and complexities involved with governmental financial reporting requirements; and Whereas, Patricia was instrumental in her division's efficiency and timely processing of the City's bill payments and payroll; and Whereas, Patricia has been an invaluable member of the Administration's budget team for many years, and especially during the implementation of new budgeting processes in recent years; and Whereas, Patricia showed her commitment to the Accounting Division and City by leading a team review of software programs to find the most efficient and comprehensive one for which to implement accounting, payroll, budgeting, and human resources applications; and Whereas, Patricia willingly took on additional duties in 2013 as Acting Director of Administrative Services, and Whereas, it is desired that such service to the City of Janesville be properly recognized; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville, through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Patricia A. Lynch for her more than twenty -five years of loyal public service. Dated this 11 day of August, 2014.
