2000-04RESOLUTION NO. 2000-4 A Resolution authorizing the City ofdanesville to expend funds in support of, and as outlined by, the Wisconsin Statute Section 66.30 Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement as previously adopted on dune 9, 1997. WHEREAS, the City of Janesville, as owner of a Wastewater Treatment Facility (FACILITY), holds a Wisconsin Pollution Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) permit which was issued and regulated by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR); and WHEREAS, the WDNR has promulgated and enforces various phosphorus removal/elimination administrative code treatment requirements applicable to the City's FACILITY, the estimated cost of which would be $400,000.00; and WHEREAS, the Intergovernmental Agreement provides the formal legal structure for municipal government cooperation and funding of study, engineering and potentially other costs and related expenses, while providing strict controls so that the FACILITY cannot commit significant expenditures without obtaining, from time to time, prior Janesville Common Council approvals; and WHEREAS, the City of Janesville's entry into the Intergovernmental Agreement, and participation in such programs and expenditures, are all in the best interests of the City and of benefit to the community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that the allocation of $10,000.00 for expenses associated with water quality monitoring and modeling of portions of the Rock River is also hereby authorized.
