An organizational meeting of the Janesville City Council, held at the Municipal Building on April 15, 2003
at 7:30 a.m.
The meeting was called to order by City Clerk-Treasurer Jean Ann Wulf.
Present: Councilmembers Addie, Brien, DeGarmo, Murphy, Steeber, Wellnitz and Williams.
ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT AND VICE-PRESIDENT:
The City Clerk-Treasurer called for nominations from the floor for City Council President. Councilmember
Murphy moved to nominate Councilmember Williams as Council President, and Councilmember Steeber
as Council Vice President. The motion was seconded by Councilmember DeGarmo. The City Clerk-
Treasurer called for any other nominations for both offices three times and received no further
nominations. Nominations were closed and Councilmember Williams was elected President and
Councilmember Steeber was elected Vice President unanimously.
Council President Williams established the new seating arrangement for the Council starting at the
President's far left: Councilmembers Addie, Murphy, DeGarmo and Steeber; starting from the President's
far right: Councilmembers Wellnitz and Brien. He requested that Councilmembers forward their requests
for committee appointments to the Administration by Tuesday April 22, 2003.
There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 7:34 a.m.
These minutes are not official until approved by the City Council.
