2014-1092 RESOLUTION 2014 -1092 A Resolution authorizing the purchase of a Fire Department Alternate Response Vehicle and Associated Equipment. WHEREAS, on April 22, 2013, the City Council approved the purchase and funding of a replacement vehicle for Quint 81, a 1997 105' aerial ladder. At that 2013 meeting, the concept of a smaller, companion vehicle was also presented. The consensus of the City Council was in favor of the alternate response vehicle (ARV) concept, but the Council requested that the actual purchase of the vehicle be presented for final approval; and WHEREAS, funding for the ARV is included in the previously approved note issue that covered the replacement Quint and associated equipment. The Fire Department is seeking City Council approval to purchase the vehicle at this time; and WHEREAS, additional details are set forth in the Fire Chiefs April 28, 2014, memorandum to the Council; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department recommends adoption of Resolution 2014 -1092, authorizing the purchase of an Alternate Response Vehicle using previously approved funding. WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Janesville find this purchase in the interest of and benefit to the community; and WHEREAS, the Common Council is authorized to make such purchase decision, pursuant to Wis. Stats. 62.11(5), and other applicable Wisconsin statutes and the laws. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that: 1. Each of the above recitals is hereby reiterated and incorporated herein by reference as if fully set forth verbatim; 2. The Council hereby authorize the purchase of an Alternative Response Vehicle using previously agreed funding. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager and /or his designee(s), on behalf of the City of Janesville, is /are hereby authorized to administratively negotiate, draft, execute, review, enter in, modify, amend, record, file, and otherwise effectuate the above agreements and promissory note, and /or to make and enter into any and all other agreements, contracts, documents, papers, and forms, and /or to take whatever other actions that the City Manager and /or his designee(s) may, from time to time and at any time, determine necessary and /or desirable to effectuate the above transactions, agreements, and /or above all the intent and /or purposes of this Resolution.
