2003-375RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 375
A resolution recognizing Partners in Prevention - Rock County, Inc. for the development
of an underage drinking education slogan campaign.
WHEREAS, Partners in Prevention - Rock County, Inc. seeks to build a
community united to promote healthy lifestyles for youth and families; and
WHEREAS, Partners in Prevention - Rock County, Inc. developed and
implemented an underage drinking education slogan contest involving high school age
students; and
WHEREAS, thirty two students from Janesville Craig High School and Beloit
Memorial High School participated in the slogan contest; and
WHEREAS, three slogans written by five students were selected by community
leaders to receive an award; and
WHEREAS, the participation of the students offers a message of caution to the
issue of underage drinking;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of
Janesville, through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Partners in
Prevention - Rock County, Inc. for their commitment to the youth of the community
through the development of the underage drinking education slogan campaign.
