Action on a proposed resolution authorizing a Joint City/School District Task Force on
Shared Services.
WHEREAS, the City and School District are interested in providing services in the most
cost-effective manner, and
WHEREAS, the City and School District serve similar geographic areas and have
facilities based in the same geographic area, and
WHEREAS, the City and School District offer some services which are similar, and
WHEREAS, the City and School District wish to study means to collaborate on some
services, and
WHEREAS, the City and School District desire to involve elected officials, appointed
officials, and stakeholders in the study process.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville that they hereby authorize the creation of a Joint Task Force on Shared
Services consisting of City, School District, and at-large representatives for the purpose
of identifying collaborative opportunities involving various programs and services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the group should formulate, review, and consider
recommendations and proposals for adoption by the City and School District
Administration.
