RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -1080
Whereas, Matthew B. Simpson is retiring from City of Janesville
employment after having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the
community for thirty years; retiring as a Captain with the City of Janesville Fire
Department; and
Whereas, during Matthew B. Simpson's employment with the City of
Janesville, he served as a Firefighter, Driver - Operator, Paramedic, Lieutenant; Rescue
Diver, Hazmat Team Advisor, and EMS Instructor; and
Whereas, Matthew B. Simpson has received recognition for his work in
Labor - Management relations, serving as the President of Janesville Firefighters Local
580 for four years, and serving on the board of the Professional Firefighters of
Wisconsin; and
Whereas, during Matthew B. Simpson's employment with the City of
Janesville, he provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious
devotion to the duties of his position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity,
honesty, and dedication; and
Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of
Janesville be properly recognized;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Matthew B. Simpson
for his thirty years of loyal public service.
