RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO
EXECUTE A PROPERTY LEASE WITH THE
JANESVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, City Council resolution #2003-341 authorized the City of Janesville to
acquire the Alliant Tech property at 101 Rockport Road, and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City of Janesville to lease out rental space in the
building to offset acquisition cost, future building demolition, and site restoration, and
WHEREAS, the Janesville School District has executed a five-year lease with a five-year
option for a portion of this building, and
WHEREAS, to lease this property is in the best interest of the City and of benefit to the
Community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville, that they hereby authorize the City Manager and/or his designees to lease building
space at 101 Rockport Road to the Janesville School District on behalf of the City as the City
Manager may deem necessary or desirable to effectuate the intent of this resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager and/or his designees may, from
time to time, negotiate, draft, amend, execute and enter into such changes and other
documents to the property lease documents, contracts and agreements and take such other
action as the City Manager and/or his designees may deem necessary or desirable to effectuate
the intent of this resolution.
