RESOLUTION NO. 2003-362
A Resolution authorizing a State sponsored Local Road Improvement Project on East Racine Street from the Rock River
to Forest Park Boulevard.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Janesville recognizes the need to improve East Racine Street from the
Rock River to Forest Park Boulevard to eliminate deteriorating conditions and high maintenance costs, and to improve
traffic safety; and
WHEREAS, the project is estimated to cost $460,000 and Local Road Improvement Project funds from the State
constituting 50% of the project cost, up to a maximum of $149,873 has been programmed for use on this project to
upgrade East Racine Street; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council finds that this public project and funding are in the best interest of the City and benefit
to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that the City Manager be
authorized to execute a Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and take any other action as
may be necessary to implement and complete the rehabilitation of said East Racine Street; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager and his designee(s), on behalf of the City of Janesville, is/are
hereby authorized and empowered to negotiate, draft, modify, review, execute, and enter into additional agreements,
payments, and record, file and/or make minor modifications and/or amendments to any and all documents, papers, forms
and agreements, and to take whatever other actions as the City Manager may determine, from time to time and at any
time, necessary and/or desirable to effectuate the intent of this Resolution and/or project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Common Council, that the City of Janesville intends to fund its share of the
proposed project.
