2003-355 CITY OF JANESVILLE RESOLUTION NO. 2003-355 A Resolution supporting the submission of an application for the Main Street Program in Downtown Janesville. WHEREAS, the City of Janesville recognizes the need to maintain a strong and viable Central Business District, and WHEREAS, the City has continued to support activities which revitalize the downtown, both in the private and public sectors, and WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin is currently accepting applications for the addition of Main Street cities in the state, and WHEREAS, the Main Street Program has a proven record of success in revitalizing central business districts by utilizing organization, promotion, design and economic development restructuring in a four point approach, and WHEREAS, participation in the Wisconsin Main Street Program will benefit Downtown Janesville and the entire community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Janesville supports the Main Street Program application to the Wisconsin Department of Commerce and the City Manager is authorized to take such action as may be necessary to support the submittal of this application.
