RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ACQUIRE THE ALLIANT TECH PROPERTY AT
101 ROCKPORT ROAD
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville has a standing offer to purchase the Alliant Tech
property at 101 Rockport Road in the amount of $350,000, and
WHEREAS, the Janesville City Council previously authorized funding in the 2002 note
issue to acquire this property in the amount of $155,000, and
WHEREAS, additional funding will be provided by a grant from the Janesville
Foundation as well as proceeds from future building rental, and
WHEREAS, acquiring this property is in the best interest of the City and of benefit to the
community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville, that they hereby authorize the City Manager and/or his designees to purchase such
property from Alliant Techsystems on behalf of the City as the City Manager may deem
necessary or desirable to effectuate the intent of this resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager and/or his designees may, from
time to time, negotiate, draft, amend, execute and enter into such changes and other
documents to the property acquisition documents, contracts and agreements and take such
other action as the City Manager may deem necessary or desirable to effectuate the intent of
this resolution.
