2014-1069 RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -1069
Whereas, Gerald Oege Luiting is retiring from City of Janesville employment
after having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for thirty -
four years; retiring as Deputy Fire Chief with the City of Janesville Fire Department; and
Whereas, during Gerald Oege Luiting's employment with the City of Janesville,
he also served as a Firefighter, Driver - Operator, Paramedic, Captain, Shift Commander, and the
Department's Emergency Medical Services Coordinator; and
Whereas, Deputy Chief Luiting has endeavored to improve the level of training
and service delivered by the Fire Department, having developed and delivered educational
programs in numerous areas including Paramedic and Emergency Medical Technician,
Firefighter Recruit training, water and ice rescue; and
Whereas, during Gerald Oege Luiting's employment with the City of Janesville,
he received numerous commendations, including Paramedic of the Year; providing exemplary
professional service and demonstrating conscientious devotion and passion for the occupation
that he chose as his profession; and
Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville
be properly recognized;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Gerald Oege Luiting for his
thirty -four years of loyal public service.
