2013-1040 CITY OF JANESVILLE
RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -1040
A Resolution authorizing a supplemental budget appropriation for calendar year
2013 snow and ice response.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Janesville adopted a 2013 snow
and ice response budget totaling $1,206,550; and,
WHEREAS, such budget is expected to be exceeded by $292,674 in calendar
year 2013 due to expected higher- than - average snow and ice precipitation during
calendar year 2013; and,
WHEREAS, maintaining an effective snow and ice response program is essential
to the safety of motorists and pedestrians within the City of Janesville; and
WHEREAS, Common Council Policy 58, Part 7 authorizes the Common Council of
the City of Janesville to provide a supplemental budget appropriation in response
to, but not exclusively, excessive snow removal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Common Council of the City of
Janesville, finds that it is in the best interest of the City of Janesville to provide for
and authorize a budget adjustment to fund snow and ice response activities for
calendar year 2013; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville
that it hereby authorizes a supplemental budget appropriation from the General
Fund Undesignated Balance to be made in an amount not to exceed two hundred
ninety two thousand, six hundred and seventy four dollars ($292,674) to pay for
the cost of such expected snow and ice response.
