An ordinance annexing territory in Section 7, T.3N., R. 13E. of the 4th P.M., Town of Harmony, Rock
County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of all the land within such territory proposed to be annexed
except for the tax exempt former railroad fight-of-way owned by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation
proposed for trail purposes, has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there are no electors residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required by law to all
persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be against the public
interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville.
PART OF THE SE.l/4 AND PART OF THE SW.1/4 OF SECTION 7, T.3N., R. 13E. OF THE 4TM P.M.,
HARMONY TOWNSHIP, ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSIN, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
Beginning at the South 1/4 comer of said Section 7; thence N.87°06'25"W. along the South line of said
Section, 620.17 feet to the East line of Kennedy Road; thence N.0°07'30"E. along said East line of said
line extended Northerly, 1880.19 feet to the Northwesterly line of the D.O.T. property; thence
N.24°50'40"E. along said Northwesterly line, 651.87 feet to the Westerly R.O.W. (right-of-way) line of
Interstate 90; thence S.20°42'54"E. along said R.O.W. line, 759.10 feet; thence S.33°10'51 "E. continuing
along said R.O.W. line, 1837.20 feet to a point of curve; thence Southeasterly, continuing along said
R.O.W. line, along a curve convexed Southwesterly, 376.31 feet, having a radius of 5869.65 feet and a
chord bearing S.43°51'48"E. 376.25 feet to a point of tangency; thence S.45°42'E. continuing along said
R.O.W. line, 72.51 feet to the South line of the SE. 1/4 of said Section; thence N.86°56'27"W. along said
South line, 1246.97 feet to the place of beginning. Containing 52.23 acres.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be exempt from
and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Harmony and thence forth shall be subject
to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 5 of the City of
Janesville.
SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Milton School District.

SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common Council, the
public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police power so requiring.
