An ordinance changing the zoning classification of property located at 1121 Center Avenue from
O1 to B3, with a penalty and injunctive relief for a violation thereof as set forth in Section 18.28.010
of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The zoning classification of the following described property is hereby changed from O1,
Office/Residence District, to B3, General Commercial District:
Part of Lot six (6) in Section one (1), Township two (2) North, Range Twelve (12) East, lying
Southwesterly of the right of way of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company's land and
more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Southwestern comer of said Lot six
(6) on the Easterly margin of Center Avenue, thence North along Easterly line of said avenue two
hundred eight (208) feet to a stake: thence East two hundred forty-three and two tenths (243.2)
feet to the right of way of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company's land; thence
Southeasterly along the right of way of said railway company two hundred ninety-one and six
tenths (291.6) feet; thence West to place of beginning, except that land deeded to B.M. Palmer,
September 8, 1930, and recorded on September 9, 1930 in Volume 52 of Deeds, Page 45, as
shown at entry 38, said land being described as: Part of Lot six (6) Section one (1) Township two
(2) North, Range Twelve (12) East, lying Southwesterly of right of way of Chicago and
Northwestern Railway Company's land, and more particularly described as follows: Commencing
at the Southwest comer of said Lot six (6) on Easterly margin of Center Avenue; thence North
along Easterly line of said Center Avenue ninety-three (93) feet; thence East in a direct line
parallel to South line of said Lot six (6) one hundred twenty (120) feet; thence Southerly on a line
parallel to Center Avenue ninety-three (93) feet to South line of said Lot six (6); thence Westerly
on the South line of said Lot six (6) one hundred twenty (120) feet to place of beginning, all in
City of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common Council, the
public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police power so requiring.
