2013-537 ORDINANCE NO. 2013 — 537
An ordinance amending the frequency of commercial fire inspections and creating a
compliance re- inspection fee.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE HEREBY DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Sections 8.32.050 C. and D. of the Code of General Ordinances of the
City of Janesville is hereby amended to read as follows:
"C. Fees for Re- inspection. Any person who shall fail or neglect to comply
with any lawful order of the fire Chief and /or his /her designee issued pursuant to
the provisions of this Chapter shall be assessed a fee in the amount of $100.00
per re- inspection in the event that such a compliance re- inspection(s) occur(s).
Re- inspection fees that are not timely paid shall be entered upon the tax roll as a
special charge against the lot or parcel of land, pursuant to the provisions of Sec.
66.0627, Wis. Stats., for collection and settlement under Ch. 74, Wis. Stats.
"D. Frequency of Fire Inspections. Pursuant to and consistent with Wisconsin
SPS 314.01(13)(b)3, as from time to time amended or renumbered, all buildings,
structures, and places of employment subject to the Code shall be inspected not
less than once each calendar year, provided that the interval between
inspections does not exceed fifteen (15) consecutive months."
