2013-1026 RESOLUTION NO. 2013-1026
A RESOLUTION authorizing the City of Janesville's submission of applications to the
Wisconsin Department of Transportation for funding though the Local Bridge and the
Local Freight Pilot Initiatives Programs
WHEREAS, the Milwaukee Street and Sharon Road Bridges are in need of
rehabilitation or replacement; and
WHEREAS, each of those bridges is eligible for 80% funding under the Wisconsin
Department of Transportation Local Bridge Program; and
WHEREAS, the Janesville Certified Site Industrial Park is in need of access
improvements to County Trunk Highway G; and
WHEREAS, those access improvements are eligible for 80% funding under the
Wisconsin Department of Transportation Local Freight Pilot Initiative Program
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the
submission of grant applications to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the
Local Bridge Program and the Local Freight Pilot Initiatives Program for the above
named projects.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager, and his designees, are hereby
authorized to negotiate, draft, prepare, execute, file and modify such other documents,
papers and agreements ancillary and /or pertaining thereto and, from time to time, to
take and /or make whatever other minor actions and /or minor modifications to the above
described agreements as the City Manager and /or his designee may deem necessary
and /or desirable to effectuate the purposes of such agreements and the intent of this
resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager be authorized to sign all
documents related to the application for funds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Janesville will meet the obligations of
these grants, and meet the financial obligations under these grants including the prompt
payment of our 20% commitment to project costs.
