An ordinance changing the zoning classification of 1620 Newport Avenue from B2,
Community Shopping District, to B4, Business Highway District, with a penalty and
injunctive relief for a violation thereof as set forth in Section 18.28.010 of the Code of
General Ordinances of the City of Janesville.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The zoning classification of the following described property is hereby changed from
B2, Community Shopping District, to B4, Business Highway District:
Property located in the SW & SE' /4 of Section 18, T.3N., R.12E. of the 4 P.M., Town of
Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin described as follows:
Newport Business Park Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9; and also part of Lot 1 of CSM 1146225
as recorded on Pages 289 -290 of Volume 15 of Certified Survey Maps as recorded in the
Rock County Register of Deeds Office, Rock County, Wisconsin and described as follows
beginning at the southeast corner of said Lot 9; thence N.68 ° 30'W 304'; thence
S.23 ° 04'45 "W 13'; thence, S68 ° 31'47 "E 304.53' to the west line of Woodlane Drive; thence
N25 ° 52'30 "E 13' to the point of beginning. Also including 35 feet of Newport Avenue right -

SECTION II. This rezoning is conditioned upon the property owner recording a deed restriction,
which can only be removed by the City Council, prohibiting the use of the property as a tavern.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common Council,
the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police power so
requiring.
