2013-1011 RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -1011
Whereas, Eric J. Levitt is leaving his employment as City Manager of the City of
Janesville after having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community
for four years; and
Whereas, Eric J. Levitt began his employment as City Manager during very
difficult economic times and is the only City Manager to serve during a time when General
Motors has not been a major employer in Janesville; and
Whereas, under his leadership the organization has completed many significant
projects including:
• Restoration of the Lincoln - Tallman House
• Construction and occupancy of the Janesville Innovation Center
• Implementation of Neighborhood Stabilization Program
• Renovation and expansion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Ice Skating Center
• Expansion of the Youth Sports Complex
• Proactive engagement of citizens in the budget process
• Completion of the Comprehensive Plan
• Implementation of automated collection of trash and recyclables
• City -wide property revaluation; and
Whereas, during Eric J. Levitt's employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties
of his position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and
Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville
be properly recognized;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Eric J. Levitt for his service to
the citizens of Janesville.
