A resolution granting a 10-foot wide easement to Wisconsin Power & Light Company on property
owned by the City along the frontage of STH 11 located between Wright Road and Wuthering
Hills Drive.
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin, is the owner of property known as Lot 2
of a Certified Survey Map adjoining the north right-of-way line of State Highway 11 located in the
Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of Section 33, Town 3 North, Range 13 East in the 4th P.M., City of
Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin;
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Power & Light Company finds, in order to transmit and distribute
electricity to and for the Public, and also provide electric service to the industrial park area located north
ofSTH 11, it is necessary to upgrade, relocate, maintain and operate electric utility facilities over, under
and across property owned by the City of Janesville as described below:
An easement 10 feet in width and lying adjoining and North of the North Right-of-way line of
State Highway 11, said easement to be located 85 feet North of the South line of Section 33,
Town 3 North, Range 13 East, Harmony Township, City of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin.
Said easement to be located on part of Lot 2 of a Certified Survey Map as recorded in Volume 18
of Certified Survey Maps, Pages 18, 19, 20 and 21 as Document Number 1249732 in the Office
of the Register of Deeds for Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, on February 4, 2002, the Janesville Plan Commission reviewed the granting of this
easement to Wisconsin Power & Light Company and found it to be consistent with City plans but did
not review the financial aspects of this transaction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager and City Clerk of the City of
Janesville are hereby authorized to execute and deliver the proper easement to the Wisconsin Power &
Light Company.
