2012-959 RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -959
A resolution vacating a portion of Laramie Lane between Mt. Zion Avenue and E. Milwaukee Street.
WHEREAS, a portion of Laramie Lane between Mt. Zion Avenue and E. Milwaukee Street hereinafter
designated and previously dedicated for street purposes is hereby determined to be no longer needed for
public use, and therefore, the public interest requires the vacation of such street portion; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the traffic flow will not be impeded by the vacation of such street
portion; and
WHEREAS, the proposed street vacation has been referred to the Plan Commission for its consideration
and report as required by 62.23(5), Wisconsin State Statutes; and
WHEREAS, the public hearing was held on vacation of such street portion and notice required by Wisconsin
Statutes 66.1003 has been timely published and served; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE that
the following described street portion be and is hereby vacated and discontinued pursuant to 66.1003 and
62.22(Im), Wisconsin Statutes:
Part of the NE % of Section 29, T.3N., R.13E. of the 4th P.M., City of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin
described as follows: A strip of land of uniform easterly - westerly width of 70.0 feet, the Westerly boundary
of said strip being a line that is 170.0 feet easterly from and parallel to the west line of the E % of the NE
of said section. Said strip begins at the Northwesterly right -of -way line of East Milwaukee Street and
extends Northerly to the Southerly right -of -way line of Mt. Zion Avenue.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Janesville hereby retains a 35 -foot wide
municipal utility easement centered on the right -of -way herein described.
