An ordinance annexing territory in Section 8, T.3N., R.13E. of the 4th P.M., Town of
Harmony, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of all the land within such territory proposed
to be annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there am no electors residing in the tencitory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required
by law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public
interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville.
Part of the East 1/2 of the NW. 1/4 and part of the NW. 1/4 of the NE. 1/4 of Section 8, T.3N.,
R. 13E. of the 4th P.M., Harmony Township, Rock County, Wisconsin, described as follows:
Beginning at the North 1/4 comer of said Section 8; thence S.0°43'45"E. along the North-
South centerline of said Section, 962.19 feet to the most SW. comer of Lot One of a
Certified Survey as recorded in Volume 12, pages 230 thru 232; thence S.64°3 l'15"E.
along the Southwesterly line of said Lot, 13.02 feet to the most NW. comer of an existing
tract; thence S.25°30'W. 280.63 feet to the most SW. comer of said tract; thence
S.64°31'15"E. along the Southwesterly line of said tract, 140.97 feet to the relocated
R.O.W. (right -of-way) line of John Paul Road (C.T.H. Y); thence S.27°11'25"W. along
said R.O.W. line, 202.08 feet to the existing city limit line; thence N.64°3 l'15"W, along
said existing city limit line, 1245.21 feet to the Easterly line of Wisconsin Department of
Transportation property (formerly railroad property); thence N.29°39'30"E. along said
Easterly line, 1086.3 feet to the North line of the NW. 1/4 of said Section; thence
S.88°23'15"E. along said North line, 648.76 feet to the place of beginning. Containing
27.23 acres.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall
be exempt fi.om and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Harmony
and thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville
for any and all purpose provided by law.

SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 5 of
the City of Janesville.
SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Milton School District.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the
Common Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public
benefit, and police power so requiring.
