Minutes 03-25-02.docPROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN REGULAR MEETING March 25, 2002 Approved April 8, 2002 VOL. 52 NO. 33 Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville held in the Municipal Building on March 25, 2002. The meeting was called to order by Council President Brien at 7:00 p.m. Councilmember DeGarmo led the Council in the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Council President Brien, Councilmembers Williams, DeGarmo, and Steeber. Absent: Councilmembers O'Leary, Damron, and Murphy. CONSENT AGENDA Minutes of the regular meeting of March 11, 2002. Minutes of the closed session of March 11, 2002. Licenses; and Recommendations of the Alcohol License Advisory Committee. Council President Brien stated that the Consent Agenda would be approved if there were no objections. There were no objections. OLD BUSINESS 1. Requests and comments from the public on matters which can be affected by Council action. Ty Bollerud, 424 S. Pearl Street, commented on the existence of nitrate in the water system; and on the dumping of oil along the Wisconsin Southern Railroad tracks. 2. Committee appointments. Council President Brien appointed Councilmembers DeGarmo and Steeber to the Downtown Task Force. Councilmember Williams moved to approve the appointments, seconded by Council President Brien. The motion passed unanimously. 3. Action on a preliminary resolution for Public Works Program #1-2002 and schedule a public hearing for the final resolution. Councilmember Williams moved to adopt said preliminary resolution, seconded by Councilmember DeGarmo and passed unanimously. Council President Brien scheduled the public hearing for April 22, 2002. (File Res. #2002-234) 4. Matters not on the Agenda. There were none. There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 7:10 p.m. These minutes are not official until approved by City Council.
