2001-200 RESOLUTION NO. 2001-200
A resolution granting a 20-foot wide utility easement across a portion of Palmer Park to Alliant
Utilities.
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin, is the owner of property within Palmer Park
located in pan of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4 ) of Section 32, Town 3 North, Range 13 East in the 4th
P.M., City of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin;
WHEREAS, Alliant Utilities must provide electrical service to a new residential development located along
E. Racine Street south of Palmer Drive from existing facilities located in Palmer Park; mad
WHEREAS, Alliant Utilities has requested that the City grant them an easement, 20 feet in width, extending
across a portion of Palmer Park north of Palmer Drive to facilitate the installation of necessary underground
electric and communication transmission facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning, Engineering, Leisure Services and Public Works staff have determined that
the location of the proposed easement does not conflict with the current or planned future use of the affected
portion of the park; and
WHEREAS, on November 5, 2001 the Janesville Plan Commission reviewed the granting of this easement
to Alliant Utilities and found it to be consistent with City plans and practices; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF
JANESVILLE that the City of Janesville hereby grants the following described easement for the installation
of underground electric and communications transmission facilities:
A utility easement lying within ten (10) feet each side of the following described centerline:
Commencing at the Southwest Comer of Section 32, Town 3 North, Range 13 East; thence North 00
degrees 59 minutes 32 seconds West, 1858.7 feet along the west line of said Section 32; thence North
89 degrees 00 minutes 28 seconds East, 177.7 feet to an existing pad mount transformer on pole 0/38
in map area 3-13-32.3 and the point of beginning of this easement description; thence South 39
degrees 41 minutes 55 seconds East, 149.8 feet to a point on the northwesterly margin of Palmer
Drive, said point also being the point of termination.
Said easement lying adjacent to and perpendicular with Palmer Drive being located in pan of the
Southwest Quarter (SW1/4) of Section 32, Town 3 North, Range 13 East in the City of Janesville,
Rock County, Wisconsin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager and City Clerk of the City of Janesville
are hereby authorized to execute and deliver the proper easement to All±ant Util±t±es.
