A resolution authorizing the City Manager andAdministration to enter into a lease agreement with the
City of Beloit for the lease of two buses.from danesville to Beloit from August 15, 2001 through dune
15, 2002 with such lease benefiting both communities and in accord with Intergovernmental
Cooperative Agreements as authorized under Wis. Stat. Sec. 66. 0301 and as permitted by the City
Council as authorized under Wis. Stat. Sec. 62.11(5).
WHEREAS, the Beloit Transit System has requested to lease two buses from the City of
Janesville; and
WHEREAS, the Janesville Transit System has decreased its school service since 1997 at the
time of the relocation of Marshall Middle School resulting in the availability for lease of such City
buses; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized and empowered to enter into such agreements under
Wis. Stat. Sec. 62.11(5); and
WHEREAS, such intergovernmental agreements and contracts between municipalities are
authorized under Wis. Stat. Sec. 66.0301; and
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville finds it is in the best interests of the City and for the benefit
of the community to enter into this lease agreement between the Janesville Transit System and the City
of Beloit Transit System;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that the
City Manager and his designee(s) may enter into a lease agreement to lease two buses to the Beloit Transit
System in the manner and for the term recommended by the Transit Director; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager and his designee(s), on behalf of the City
of Janesville, is/are hereby authorized and empowered to negotiate, draft, modify, review, execute, and
enter into additional agreements, record, file and/or make minor modifications and/or amendments to
any and all documents, papers, forms and agreements, and to take whatever other actions as the City
Manager may determine, from time to time and at any time, necessary and/or desirable to effectuate the
intent of this Resolution and/or project.
