A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION
OF NEW LOCKER ROOMS AT MONTEREY STADIUM
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville owns Monterey Stadium which is located in Monterey
Park; and
WHEREAS, the City leases the stadium to the Janesville School District via a lease that
expires in March 2023; and
WHEREAS, there are insufficient locker rooms available to sports teams for athletic
events at Monterey Stadium; and
WHEREAS, a private group is proposing a conduct a fund raising drive to renovate
Monterey Stadium by constructing new team locker rooms; and
WHEREAS, this proposed project is determined to be in the best interest of the City of
Janesville.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of
Janesville authorizes the City Administration to approve plans and specifications for the
Monterey Stadium locker room project; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the private groups may proceed with their fund
raising activities; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager and his designee(s) on behalf of
the City of Janesville, is/are hereby authorized and empowered to negotiate, draft, modify,
review, execute, renew and or extend this lease, and enter into additional agreements, record,
file and/or make minor modifications and/or amendments to any and all documents, papers,
forms, and agreements, and to make whatever other actions as the City Manager may
determine, from time to time and at any time, necessary and/or desirable to effectuate the intent
of this resolution and/or project.
