A Resolution authorizing the transfer of land to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation
on the east side of the City to accommodate the widening of Highway 14 and Highway. ! 1.
WItEREAS, the City of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin, is the owner of real property located on
east side of the City along Highway 14 and also along Highway 11, legally described as follows:
Part of the southeast ¼ of the northeast %, the northeast ¼ of the southeast ¼, the southwest ¼
of the southwest ¼, and the southeast ¼ of the southwest ¼, of Section 33, T3N, R13E,
located within the City of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin.
VOtEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation finds, in order to accommodate the
widening of Highway 14 and Highway 11, that a portion of land owned by the City is needed for road
purposes; and
~VltEREAS, the City of Janesville and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation entered into a
Project Agreement in 1999 for the future improvements along Highway 14 and Highway 11; and
W}IEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, in consideration of said land transfer, has
agreed to reduce the local share of the future Highway 11 project; and
WItEREAS, on May 7, 2001, the Janesville Plan Commission reviewed the transfer of land to the
Wisconsin Department of Transportation and found it to be consistent with City plans, but did not
review the financial aspects of this transaction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager and his designee(s), on behalf of
the City of Janesville, is/are hereby authorized and empowered to negotiate, draft, modify, review,
execute, and enter into additional agreements, record, file and/or make minor modifications and/or
amendments to any and all documents, papers, forms and agreements, and to take whatever other
actions as the City Manager may determine, from time to time and at any time, necessary and/or
desirable to effectuate the intent of this Resolution and/or project.
