2001-166 RESOLUTION NO. 2001 - 166
A resolution providing for the future operation of the Janesville Ice Skating Center.
WHEREAS, the Janesville Ice Skating Center was constructed in 1974 by the City of Janesville
as a general skating facility under an enterprise budget; and
WHEREAS, this facility has been available to the citizens of Janesville for recreational
purposes on a year-round basis since then; and
WHEREAS, the various user groups have made a commitment to a partnership with the City to
provide voluntary contributions of money and labor; and
WHEREAS, the continued operation of the Ice Skating Center as a General Fund City
recreational program is in the best interest of the community;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville
that the Janesville Ice Skating facility shall be operated as a City recreational facility on a year-round
basis.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council that ~e .20000o1 budget for recreation
shall be amended to provide for an expenditure increase of SE0-7r!-5~ ann's/r)°e~n~ increase of
$177,000 to be utilized for the operation of the Ice Skating Center.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administration is authorized to utilize the balance
in the Ice Skating fund for operational purposes in 2001.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager and his designee(s), on behalf of the
City of Janesville is/are hereby authorized and empowered to negotiate, draft, modify, review, execute,
enter into, record file and/or to make agreements, minor modifications and/or amendments to any and
all documents, papers, forms and agreements, and to take whatever other actions as the City Manager
may, from time to time and at any time, determine necessary and/or desirable to effectuate the intent of
the Resolution and/or project.
