A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION TO PROCEED WITH DEVELOPMENT
PLANS FOR A PARK ON CITY LAND, AND FOR THE JANESVILLE NOON LIONS CLUB AND
THE FRIENDS OF THE HEDBERG PUBLIC LIBRARY TO PROCEED WITH FUND RAISING
ACTIVITIES
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville owns a 3.5 acre park immediately south of the Hedberg
Public Library, and
WHEREAS, the Janesville Noon Lions Club and the Friends of the Hedberg Public Library
have submitted a proposal to the City requesting permission to develop the Park with walkways,
landscaping, benches and other structures and improvements consistent with a public park, and
WHEREAS, the Janesville Plan Commission reviewed the conceptual plan on August 21st,
2000 and on a vote of 5-1 found it to be consistent with City plans, and
WHEREAS, it is determined to be in the City's best interest to develop a park in this area.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Janesville
authorizes the City Administration to develop plans for this park with the Janesville Noon Lions and
the Friends of the Hedberg Public Library, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the private groups may proceed with their fundraising
activities, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager and his designee(s), on behalf of the City
of Janesville, is/are hereby authorized and empowered to negotiate, draft, modify, review, execute,
and enter into additional agreements, record, file and/or make minor modifications and/or
amendments to any and all documents, papers, forms and agreements, and to take whatever other
actions as the City Manager may determine, from time to time and at any time, necessary and/or
desirable to effectuate the intent of this Resolution and/or project.
