2001-113 CITY OF JANESVILLE
RESOLUTION NO. 2001-113
A Resolution authorizing a Jurisdictional Transfer Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation to delete a portion of State Trunk Highway (STH) 11 and designate these sections
of highway as local streets.
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation may, under s. 84.02(8), delete a
portion of the state trunk highway system; and
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is constructing STH 11 (Janesville
Bypass, West) with the financial assistance of the City of Janesville, on a new location; and
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation desires to transfer jurisdiction of
portions of existing STH 11 to City of Janesville effective upon completion and opening of
Janesville Bypass, West; and
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will compensate the City of Janesville
$534,000 to rehabilitate local streets upon completion of the Janesville Bypass, West.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Janesville
that the City Manager be authorized to execute the Jurisdictional Transfer Agreement with the
Wisconsin Department of Transportation and take any other action as may be necessary to accept
jurisdiction of STH 11 from the intersection of West Court Street and Sunset Drive to a point
0.13 miles east of the intersection of East Racine Street and Palmer Drive.
