An ordinance attaching territory in Sections 10 and 15, T.2N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M., Town
of Rock, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by the owners of a majority of the land within such territory proposed
to be attached has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there are no electors residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required by law
to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the territory described herein is within the City of Janesville/Town of Rock
Cooperative Boundary Plan area; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this attachment is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby attached to the City of Janesville.
PART OF THE SE.l/4 OF SECTION 10 AND PART OF THE NE.l/4 OF
SECTION 15, ALL IN T.2N., R.12E. OF THE 4TH P.M., ROCK TOWNSHIP,
ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSIN, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Beginning at the
SW. Corner of Outlot 1, Wick Valley Addition, a recorded subdivision; thence South
along the Southerly extension of the West line of said Addition to the South line of
Rodney Thiele's property; thence East along said South line, 290 feet; thence South
parallel with the East line of the SE./4 of said Section 10 to the South line of said
SE. 1/4 of said Section 10; Thence South parallel with the East line of the NE. 1/4 of
Section 15 to the North line of Whilden B. Hughes, Jr. tract; Thence West to the
NW. corner of said tract; thence South along the West line of said tract to the East-
West centerline of said Section 15; Thence East along said East-West Centerline, 70
feet to a point on the Southerly extension of the West line of Lot 1 of a Certified
Survey Map as recorded in Volume 1, Page 50; Thence Northerly to the most
Northerly corner of said Lot 1; Thence Easterly to the NW. corner of Lot 8 of a
Certified Survey Map as recorded in Volume 1, Page 111; Thence Easterly 179.21
feet to the most NE. comer of said Certified Survey Map; Thence Northerly along the
East line of said NE. 1/4 of said Section 15 to the NE comer of said Section 15;
Thence Northerly along the East line of said SE.l/4 of said Section 18 to the NE.
comer of the School District of Janesville parcel; Thence West to the NW. corner of
said parcel (also being the NE. corner of Outlot 3 of said Wick Valley Addition;
Thence South along the East line of said addition to the SE. corner of Outlot 2 of said
addition; Thence West to the place of beginning. Containing 74 acres, more or less.
SECTION II. After this attachment becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Rock and thence
forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any and all
purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. In accordance with the City of Janesville/Town of Rock Cooperative Boundary Plan
and Agreement, after this attachment becomes effective, the City agrees to annually transfer dollars
to the Town in the amount equal to the assessed value of the property included in the attachment area
multiplied by the Town of Rock's then applicable annual mill rate for Town purposes at the time of
attachment. Such payments shall be made for a five-year period starting on January 1, 1999.
SECTION IV. All the territory attached by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 26 of the
City of Janesville,
SECTION V. There are no residents in the area proposed for attachment.
SECTION VI. The attachment area is entirely within the Janesville School District.
