An ordinance annexing territory in Section 16, T.3N., R.13E. of the 4th P.M., Town of
Harmony, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by the owner of all the land within such territory proposed to be
annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, no electors reside in the territory to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required
by law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WItEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public
interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville.
PART OF THE SW. 1/4 OF THE SE. 1/4 AND PART OF THE SE. 1/4 OF THE SW. 1/4 OF
SECTION 16, T.3N., R.13E. OF THE 4TH P.M., HARMONY TOWNSHIP, ROCK
COUNTY, WISCONSIN, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
Commencing at the South 1/4 corner of said Section 16; thence N.88°29'35"W. along the
South line of the SW.1/4 of said Section, 658.48 feet to the SW. corner of the East 1/2 of the
SE. 1/4 of said SW. 1/4 of said Section; thence N.0°52'30"W. along the West line of said East
1/2 of said SE. 1/4 of said SW. 1/4 of said Section, 223.73 feet to the place of beginining for
the land to be herein described; thence continuing N.0°52'30"W. along said West line,
1095.46 feet to the NW. corner of said East 1/2 of said SE. 1/4 of said Section; thence
S.88 degrees 31' E. along the North line of said SE. 1/4 of said SW. 1/4 of said Section, 658.97 feet to
the NE. corner of said SE. 1/4 of said SW. 1/4 of said Section; thence S.88°31 '40"E. along the
North line of the SW. 1/4 of the SE.I/4 of said Section, 310.93 feet; thence S.1°30'25"W.
134.20 feet; thence S.5°50'E. 70.58 feet; thence S.1°30'25"W. 130.0 feet; thence
N.88°29'35"W. 559.33 feet; thence S.1°30'25"W. 130.0 feet; thence S.5°06'45"E. 70.47 feet;
thence S.1°30'25"W. 259.32 feet; thence S.1°39'35"E. 70.11 feet; thence S.1°30'25"W. 125.0
feet; thence N.88°29'35"W. 90.20 feet; thence S.0°52'30"E. 125.11 feet; thence
N.66°57'45"W. 76.57 feet; thence S.89°07'30"W. 230.0 feet to the place of beginning.
Containing 14.13 acres.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Harmony and
thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any
and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 17 of
the City of Janesville.
SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation.
