An ordinance annexing territory in Section 8, T.3N., R.13E. of the 4th P.M., Town of
Harmony, Rock County, Wisconsin.
VqHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of all the land within such territory proposed to
be annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there are no electors residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required by
law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The tenStory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville.
PART OF THE EAST 1/2 OF THE NE 1/4 AND THE NE. 1/4 OF THE SE. 1/4 OF SECTION
8, T.3N., R. 13E OF THE 4TH P.M., HARMONY TOWNSHIP, ROCK COUNTY,
WISCONSIN.
DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Beginning at the East 1/4 comer of said Section 8; thence
S.0°36'30'E along the East line of the SE 1/4 of said Section, 1320.78 feet to the SE. comer of the
NE 1/4 of said SE 1/4 of said Section; thence N.88°13'40"W along the South line of said NE 1/4
of said SE 1/4 of said Section, 1321.93 feet to the SW comer of said NE 1/4 of said SE 1/4 of
said Section, thence N.0°38'35"W, along the West line of said NE 1/4 of said SE 1/4 of said
Section, 1321.60 feet to the NW comer of said NE 1/4 of said SE 1/4 of said Section, thence
N.0°41'30"W. along the West line of the East 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of said Section, 450.43 feet to the
Southeasterly R.O.W., (right-of-way) line of S.T.H. 26, thence N.48°47'17"E along said R.O.W.
line, 10.99 feet, thence N.53°12'46"E, continuing along said R.O.W. line, 281.73 feet to the
Southwesterly line of Lot 1 of a Certified Survey Map as recorded in Volume 6, Page 19, thence
S.37°25'10E. along said Southwesterly line, 455.28 feet to the most Southerly comer of said Lot;
thence N.52°31'45"E along the Southeasterly line of said Lot, 435.54 feet to the most Easterly
comer of said Lot; thence N.37°2§'45"W along the Northeasterly line of said Lot, 463.81 feet to
said Southeasterly R.O.W. line, thence N.52°34'17"E continuing along said R.O.W. line, 926.64
feet to the East line of said NE 1/4 of said Section, thence S.0°40'30"E., along said East line,
1502.77 feet to the place of beginning. Containing 65.14 acres.

SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Harmony and
thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any
and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 17 of
the City of Janesville.
SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Milton School District.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
