An ordinance amending the zoning ordinance to make roominghouses, boardinghouses
and Iodginghouses conditional uses within the R3, R4, O1, 02, B2, B3, B4, B5, and B6
Zoning Districts and to create and clarify definitions related to such residential uses, with
a penalty and injunctive relief for a violation thereof as set forth in Section 18.28.010 of
the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section I. Section 18.36.020 B.4.a.iii. of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of
Janesville is hereby deleted and the remaining subsections shall be renumbered accordingly.
Section II. Section 18.36.020 B.4.b.vii. of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of
Janesville is hereby amended to read as follows.

Section IlL Section 18.36.030 B. 1.b.xv. of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of
Janesville is hereby deleted and the remaining subsections shall be renumbered accordingly.
Section IV. Section 18.36.030 B.l.c.vii. of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of
Janesville is hereby created to read as follows.
vii. Roominghouses, boardinghouses or lodging-houses;
Section ¥. Section 18.36.040 B.2.c.xvi. of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of
Janesville is hereby created to read as follows.
xvi. Roominghouses, boardinghouses or lodging-houses located above the
first floor;
Section VI. Section 18.36.040 B.3.c.xxii. of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of
Janesville is hereby created to read as follows.

Section XII. Section 18.20.571 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is
hereby created to read as follows.
Section XIII. This ordinance shall take effect h-nmediately upon adoption, the public welfare and
good so requiring.
