An Ordinance amending section 10.60.030 of the Janesville Code of General
Ordinances to prohibit operation of unlicensable motor powered vehicles in
Residential Districts R1 and R2, with certain exceptions, with a penalty for
violations thereof as set forth in Janesville General Ordinance Sections 10.60.060
and 10.68.060.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 10.60.030 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"10.60.030 Unlicensed vehicles - Use prohibited when - Exceptions.
(A)
(n)
All vehicles, as defined in section 10.60.020, which are not licensable under
the Vehicle Code of the state are expressly prohibited from operating the
power or motor unit within the city, whether on poblic or private property,
between nine p.m. and eight a.m., unless excepted by sections 10.60.040 or
10.60.050.
No person shall operate any such unlicensable motor powered vehicle on
any land zoned R1 or R2 by this code at any time un!e:: .... ~' ......
o,,~..t' .,...,.~-'~ , except that a person may operate an ATV and other
unlicensable motor powered vehicles upon land zoned R1 or R2 solely
for the following purposes, and then only during such times as set forth
in subsection (A) above:
To and/or from a garage, storage shed or similar structure
upon property which is such person"s principal residence or
where such ATV or other unlicensable motor powered vehicle
is customarily stored to load upon or unload from a truck or
other vehicle for transport and use off site, but only by means
of the shortest distance, and in no event longer than five (5)
minutes at any one time nor more otlen than twice per day.
To haul a boat trailer for storage purposes upon property
which is such person's principal residence or where such
trailer is customarily stored, but only by means of the shortest
distance, and in no event longer thau five (5) minutes at any
one time nor more often than twice per day.
3. To plow snow upon paved driveways or sidewalks."
