An ordinance annexing territory in Section 16, T.3N., R.13E. of the 4th P.M., Town of
Harmony, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of all the land within such territory proposed to
be annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there are no electors residing in the territory proposed for annexation; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required by
law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WItEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville.
Part of the SE1/4, NE1/4 and NWI/4 of the SW1/4 and SE1/4 and SW1/4 of the NWl/4 of
Section 16, T3N, R13E, Town of Harmony, Rock County, Wisconsin, to-wit: Commencing at
the S ¼ comer of said Section 16; thence N88°29'34"W, 658.48 feet; thence N0°52'26"W,
1040.00 feet to the point of beginning; thence continuing N0°52'26"W, 1598.28 feet to the E-W
¼ line of said Section 16; thence N0°51 '59"W, 660 feet more or less to the extension of the
south line of the N ~/2 of the SW1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 16; thence Westerly, along said
extension, 666 feet more or less to the proposed easterly line of North Wright Road; thence
Southwesterly, along said proposed easterly line, 1959 feet more or less to the northerly line of
Sandhill Drive; thence S62°01 '24"E, 193.55 feet; thence N27°36'22"E, 109.42 feet; thence
S62°23'38"E, 1200.34 feet; thence N89°08'E, 333.58 feet to the point of beginning, containing
56 acres more or less.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Harmony and
thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any
and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 17 of
the City of Janesville.

SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Milton School District.
