An ordinance establishing the zoning classification of land located between Newville and
Kennedy Road southwest of 1-90 to R1 and M1 upon annexation.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The zoning classification of the following described property is hereby established
as R1, Single-Family and Two-Family Residence District:
Commencing at the Northwest comer of Certified Survey Map Number 955551 as recorded in
Volume 11 of Cert'lfied Survey Maps of Rock County on Pages 61 and 62; thence N.0 degrees
49'10"W., along the West line of the SW. 1/4 of Section 7 aforesaid, 457.94 feet to the point of
beginning; thence N.89 degrees 10'50"E. 177.50 feet; thence N.0 degrees 49' 10"W. 156.00 feet;
thence N.89 degrees 10'50"E. 137.50 feet; thence N.0 degrees 49'10' W. 237.59 feet; thence
S.89 degrees 31'10"E. 70.02 feet; thence S.0 degrees 49'10"E. 120.00 feet; thence S.89 degrees
31'10"E. 622.81 feet; thence N.65 degrees 15'47"E. 76.73 feet; thence S.89 degrees 31'10"E.
953.30 feet to the Northerly line of the abandoned Chicago & Northwestern Railroad right-of-
way (now Wisconsin Department of Transportation corridor); thence S.24 degrees 05'30"W.,
along said Northerly line, 804.66; thence N.87 degrees 43'30"W., 747.44 feet; thence S.0
degrees 49' 10"E. 17.19 feet; thence N.87 degrees 43'30"W. 980.00 feet to a point on the
Westerly right-of-way line of Kennedy Road; thence N.0 degrees 49' 10"W. along said Westerly
right-of-way line 457.94 feet; thence N.89 degrees 10'50"E. 33.00 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION II. The zoning classification of the following described property is hereby established
as M1, Light Industrial District:
Commencing at the Northwest comer of Certified Survey Map Number 955551 as recorded in
Volume 11 of Certified Survey Maps of Rock County on Pages 61 and 62; thence N.0 degrees
49'10"W., along the West line of the SW. 1/4 of Section 7 aforesaid, 70.1 feet to the point of
beginning; thence S 87 degrees 43'30 E 947.00 feet; thence N.0 degrees 49'10"W. 17.19 feet;
thence S. 87 degrees 43'30"E. 747.44 feet; thence S. 24 degrees 05'30' W. 1460.38 feet to the
Northerly line of the abandoned Chicago & Northwestern Railroad right-of-way (now Wisconsin
Department of Transportation corridor); thence N. 87 degrees 43'30"W. 131.43 feet; thence
Northerly 1270.48 feet mom-or-less to the Northeast comer of the Harmony Development tract;
thence N.87 degrees 43'30"W., along the Northerly line of said Harmony Development tract,
611.21 feet lo the Northeast comer of said Certified Survey Map Number 955551; thence S.0
degrees 49'10"E. along the easterly line of said Certified Survey Map, 300.00 feet; thence N.89
degrees 10'50"W. 363.00 feet to a point on the Westerly right-of-way line of Kennedy Road;
thence N.0 degrees 49' 10"W. along said Westerly right-of-way line 387.94 feet; thence northeast
33.00 feet more or less to the point of beginning.
SECTION Ill. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
