Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville held in the Municipal Building
on January 7, 2008.
The meeting was called to order by Council President Brunner at 6:00 p.m.
Present: Council President Brunner, Councilmembers DeGarmo, Loasching, Steeber,
Truman and Williams. Absent: Councilmember Wellnitz.
1. Requests and comments from the public regarding items on the Agenda not requiring a
public hearing. Jim Alverson, 225 Pease Court; Andreah Briarmoon, 339 S. Locust Street;
Billy McCoy, 1326 Putnam Avenue; Karl Dommershausen, 2419 Plymouth Avenue; and
Joyce Shea, Janesville; all spoke against holding a spring primary for City Council. Joe
LeBeau, 2416 Riverview Drive; Yuri Rashkin, 226 Forest Park Boulevard; Denise Showers,
3211 Palmer Drive; and David Henke, 1327 Hawthorne Avenue; all spoke in favor of
holding a spring primary for City Council.
2. Action on a potential spring primary for City Council on February 19, 2008.
Councilmember DeGarmo moved to hold a spring primary for City Council, seconded by
Councilmember Steeber and passed unanimously.
3. Matters not on the agenda. There were none.
There being no further business, Council adjourned at 6:28 p.m.
