2000-5ORDINANCE NO. 2000-5 An ordinance annexing territory in Section 3, T.2N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M., Town of Rock, Rock County, Wisconsin. WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of all the land within such territory proposed to be annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, there are no electors residing in the territory; and WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required by law to all persons affected; and WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be against the public interest; and WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville. Part of the NE ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 3, T.2N., R. 12E. of the 4th P.M., Rock Township, Rock County, Wisconsin, described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the Southwesterly right-of-way line of Rockport Park Drive and the East-West centerline of Section 3, aforesaid, said point being 1701 feet more or less North 90000' East of the West lA comer of said Section 3; thence South 47°17'50"East 99.3 feet; thence South 42°42'08" West 300 feet; thence Southerly along a curve convexed Westerly, 92.20 feet, having a radius of 96.05 feet, the chord being South 15012'05'' West 88.70 feet; thence South 12o17'52'' East 224.38 feet; thence South 42°42'08" West 11.49 feet; thence North 55°02'21" West 81.56 feet; thence North 65042'42'' West 176.59 feet; thence North 1 °22'15" West 481.89 feet to the East-West centerline of said Section; thence North 90000' East 353.20 feet to the place of beginning. Containing 3.38 acres. SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Rock and thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any and all purpose provided by law. SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 36 of the City of Janesville. SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation. SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Janesville School District. SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police power so requiring.
