A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville held in the Municipal Building
on October 24, 2007.
The meeting was called to order by Council President Brunner at 6:00 p.m.
Present: Council President Brunner, Councilmembers DeGarmo (arrived 6:05 p.m.),
Loasching, Truman, Wellnitz and Williams.
Absent: Councilmember Steeber.
The City Council reviewed the proposed 2008 budget which included: Revenue and
Expenditure Summaries, General Fund, Neighborhood Services, Janesville Area
Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (JACVB), Leisure Services and Parks, Community and
Economic Development, Library, JATV-12, Transit, Insurance Fund, and Major Capital
Projects. During the review of the budgets, the City Council asked various questions and
did not take any action.
City Manager Sheiffer stated that the Administration would prepare a report on proposed
budget changes based on the pending State imposed levy limits. In addition, the
Administration would provide information on expanding the large item pick up program.
Council President Brunner and Councilmember DeGarmo requested that the
Administration review the Community Development’s order to correct procedures and
provide the Council with a report on any proposed changes. Councilmembers requested
further information concerning the Neighborhood Services, State and Federal Grants -
Downtown Revitalization 2007 estimated costs of $292,500.
Matters not on the Agenda. There were none.
There being no further business, Council adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
