RESOLUTION NO. 2007-421
A Resolution Recognizing the Tenth Anniversary of JATV 12
WHEREAS, the implementation of a public access television channel and
operation of the channel at Hedberg Public Library were approved by the
Janesville City Council on January 27, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the public access channel, JATV 12, commenced broadcasting on
July 10, 1997; and
WHEREAS, JATV has offered Janesville residents a facility, equipment, and
support for the production of quality community programming; and
WHEREAS, volunteer producers, staff, and organizations have produced over
3,000 programs that are informational, educational and entertaining; and
WHEREAS, staff have successfully broadcast Janesville City Council meetings
since February 14, 2005; and
WHEREAS, JATV will celebrate its tenth anniversary on July 10, 2007; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that the commendable contributions of JATV to the
community and the residents of Janesville be properly recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City
of Janesville, that all Janesville citizens are called upon to acknowledge and
thank the JA TV staff, volunteer producers, and local organizations for their role in
enhancing the quality of life in our community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council to express their
appreciation to JATV for its valuable service to the City of Janesville on the
occasion of their tenth anniversary.
