2007-362 ORDINANCE NO. 2007-362 An ordinance annexing territory in Section 27 in T.3N., R.12E. ofthe 4th P.M., Town of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin. WHEREAS, a petition signed by the owner of the land within such territory proposed to be annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, there are two electors residing in the territory; and WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required by law to all persons affected; and WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be against the public interest; and WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville. DESCRIBED AS FOllOWS: Commencing at the SW. corner of said Section 27; thence N.oo19'04"W. along the West line of the SW.1/4 of said Section, 398.05 feet to the NW. corner of an existing parcel, also being at the place of beginning for the land to be herein described; thence continuing N.oo19'04"W. along said West line, 1027.46 feet to the SW. corner of a Certified Survey Map as recorded in Volume 7, page 132; thence N.89044'51 "E. 697.88 feet to the SE. corner of said Certified Survey Map; thence N.oo26'59'W. along the East iine of a Certified Survey Map and the East line of a Certified Survey Map as recorded in Volume 9, pages 265 thru 267, a distance of 1040.07 feet; thence N.oo25'02'W. 197.87 feet to the North line of said SW.1/4 of said Section; thence N.89043'08"E. along said North line, 628.53 feet to the NE. corner of the West 1/2 of said SW. 1/4 of said Section; thence S.oo30'40"E. along the East line of said West 1/2 of said SW. 1/4 of said Section, 2660.51 feet to the South line of said SW.1/4 of said Section; thence S.89036'26'W. along said South line; 367.82 feet to the SE. corner of an existing tract; thence N.oo1B'46"W. 165.00 feet to the NE. corner of said tract; thence S.89041'57"W. along the North line of existing tracts, 398.73 feet to the NW. corner of an existing tract; thence S.oo23'34"E. along the West line of said tract; 132.64 feet to the North line of Mineral Point Avenue (said line being parallel with and 33.00 feet North of said South line of said SW.1/4); thence S.89036'26'W. along said North line, 249.09 feet to the East line of lot 1 of a Certified Survey Map as recorded in Volume 11, page 398; thence N.oo27'11"W. 129.0 feet to the NE. corner of said lot; thence N.89054'02"W. along the North line of said lot, 65.00 feet; thence N.oo24'04'W. 40.00 feet, thence N.28045'05"W. 85.75 feet; thence S.89040'56'W. 25.01 feet to the East line of said existing parcel; thence N.oo19'04"W. along said East line, 120.00 feet to the NE. corner of said parcel; thence S.89036'26"W. 186.00 feet to the place of beginning. SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Janesville and ORDINANCE NO. 2007-362 PAGE 2 thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any and all purpose provided by law. SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 27 of the City of Janesville. SECTION IV. There are two residents in the area proposed for annexation. SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Janesville School District. SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, pUblic benefit, and police power so requiring.
